Bridge Sharing Caring

On the legacy of Kurdistan arts and culture , Culture Bridge was created in 2018 as a community group and as a constituted group in November 2020.

At Manchester Culture Bridge, we strongly believe in a multicultural world where we share more similarities than differences. We believe that asylum seekers, refugees and migrants are an important part of the community and should be treated with dignity, respect and equality. We aim to inspire and support each other to build a community where people are better neighbours, newcomers feel more welcome and inclusive.

Working with Culture Bridge, one of our associate groups based in Stockport, and supported by Lankelly Chase Foundation, we worked with a group of 25 women from refugee and migrant communities in Stockport and Hazel Grove to hold creative workshops on various subjects. During 16 online and outdoor spaces, women came together to create arts, share skills and experiences and to start a dialogue about their situation and how to influence systems and behaviours that perpetuate their discriminations. Some examples of the art works and writing are available on Culture Bridge and Sheba Arts instagram.
